Dr. Nehler is the Director of Scientific and Medical Affairs at CPC Clinical Research. In this role he provides leadership and oversight for the Scientific and Medical Affairs department and CPC’s core faculty. Dr. Nehler has more than 17 years of experience in Phase II and III, multi-center, randomized clinical trials. He has served on numerous executive advisory, steering, entry criteria adjudication, data safety monitoring, and clinical events committees.
In addition to his industry experience, he has brought lessons learned from over 20 years as a vascular surgeon, to help develop and improve CPC’s Wound Core Lab with the purpose to identify and mitigate sources of data variability and improve and standardize collection and analysis of wound related data.
Dr. Mark Nehler is also a Professor of Surgery and Head of Vascular Surgery at University of Colorado Denver as wells as the Director of the Surgical Residency Training Program. Dr. Nehler is a Fellow of the American Heart Association, the American College of Surgeons, and member of the Society of Vascular Surgeons. He is the Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery University of Colorado Denver. He was a section leader of the second Trans-Atlantic Society Consensus (TASC) on the treatment of peripheral arterial disease.
Dr. Nehler’s primary research interest is in the conduct and methodology of large randomized clinical trials in peripheral artery disease and critical limb ischemia. He has co-authored more than 50 peer-reviewed manuscripts.
